This fire from the sky reawakens ancient evils, but also calls the heroes of Sanctuary to defend the mortal world against the rising powers of the Burning Hells once again. Computer Game Verified Purchase The game is okay. However, comparing it to it's predecessors just knock it out of the way. From the irritating voice acting to the inane forced story, to the amazing lack of any real difficulty, this game has a lot of problems. Also I never thought of Diablo as being super lore-heavy yet Diablo III manages to ret-con so much. All the evils magically appearing in the Black Soulstone because Adria hunted them down and marked them somehow. And that is not the stupidest thing this game does story wise. The stupidest thing isa tie between Tyrael and Cain those who have played will know what this means. Those who haven't yet all you need to know is that both characters are system to different degrees. Cain never even says his iconic line. The game itself is all right. Combat is smooth but that is the only thing that is. It drops a lot and it's good, but it's boring. Diablo II had lots of cool affixes while all of III's are usually just adding to your stats, nothing really cool. They did fix the legendary drop rate, but they are usually just as boring as the regular items. Areas range between small and boring to large and boring. Which would be all right if monsters were interesting. In Diablo II each Act had it's own expansive bestiary that all looked cool and different in some way. You will see the same exact monsters with no changes trade then color over and over again. Then in Act IV you get all of these new unique monsters for the smallest Act. Which i thought was messed up. In short if you want to try this game out I suggest you get Reaper of Souls. It can't fix the issues for the first couple of Acts but it's additions make them bearable and Act V washes that bitter taste out of your mouth with it's awesomeness. Parry on July 18, Format: I was extremely excited in June when it was officially announced, and though all the release date push backs put a damper somewhat on that, it wasn't going to stop me from purchasing the game. When I played the game on release day, I was once again immersed in the world of Sanctuary and slaughtering demons Then came Inferno time, and all that ended, but more on that later. First, I will start with the good trade about D3. The graphics are excellent to be sure, and there is a wide variety of interesting and different environments that you fight in. Act 1 in particular is extremely well done and has a ton of lore from the original game - it Diablo like a Diablo game. Most of the classes are designed well, and unlike many others, I actually like the skill system in this game over D2's - the fact you can choose any skill in the game you like so long as you've unlocked it is how D2 SHOULD have been. However, this is where the good ends - everything else about this game is mediocre if not downright terrible. First, there is the god awful loot system. All the trade, even the best ones, are highly uninteresting, and diablo pretty much just look for anything that has your chars main stat, vitality, all resistances The drop rates on quality items is so trade low, system come Inferno time, you WILL be forced to use the Auction House to progress. I guess initially it worked, but people are leaving the game in droves now, because it simply isn't fun. People want to find their own items, not be forced to pull out their wallets in a pay-to-win system or farm for countless hours with nothing to show for it. I leveled all 5 classes to 60 just to make sure it wasn't me, and that maybe I was playing the wrong class, but that isn't the case. Then there is Inferno itself - what a joke. Cheesing the players with over powered monster traits see Arcane Sentry, Molten, Vortex, Invulnerable Minions, Shielding, Waller, and Frozen doesn't constitute as providing a challenge, it constitutes as creating an artificial difficulty system that makes game play ENTIRELY dependent on what items you have, rather than player skill. Because you WILL die in Inferno regardless of how skilled of a gamer you may be - unless you have the absolute best gear in the game. Somehow, Blizz thinks that dying alot is more fun than having a dominant diablo that can kill everything. What planet are these guys from? Not saying Inferno should be a cake walk, but Blizz's design philosophy of "monsters over powered, players under powered", is a fundamentally bad one that will only drive people to rage quit and find a game that is actually FUN to play. Trade feels much more like a tedious chore than it does a genuinely fun and challenging endgame. Normal-hell on D3 is pretty fun though Hell can be cheezy at times also, but not to nearly the same degree that Inferno is if you have some time to kill, diablo Inferno is a waste of time and you will hate yourself and Blizz even more so. I really thought I had seen the last of these cheesy mechanics during the 's system arcade games and Nintendo, but it seems I was mistaken. This stuff has NO place in a modern ARPG game, especially one as venerated as the Diablo series. And of course, Blizz thinks its just us, as they continue to nerf us time after time, raise repair costs yet another punishment that makes the game unfun and discourages the object of the game: No, its not just us, its YOU, and your faulty philosophy of "players system be underpowered" and poor endgame design, and your desire to be a bunch of Nazi's and force US to play how you guys want us to play. Sorry to inform you Blizz, we bought the game already, and we can and should be able to play how WE like, not how you want us to. Instead of nerfing us to the ground so we have to change our skills or our items constantly, why don't you take a look at how overtuned Inferno is and trade that to a level that is actually reasonable. Nerfing it so that we go from being 1-shotted to 3-shotted instead doesn't make a sh! You guys fail HARD. D3 had amazing potential, but Blizz completely ruined it. I was generous to give it 2 stars, since normal-hell isnt bad, but that is far from being enough to save this profit-scheme, cheeseball of a game. Anyway, thats my rant for the day. Computer Game Verified Purchase Rating this was tricky for me because the game is brilliant but I have a complaint about the DVD. Basically the disks don't have the game on them anymore. You buy them if you want to keep the box or just don't like paying for it online. The actual games aren't on the disks though you basically bought it for the key.
